Forest Children Party in the FOREST

Party in the Forest — Honoring Nature, Culture, and Community

Observed Every March 21st — International Day of Forests

Each year, deep within the forest that once served as a place of refuge, the Forest Children Common Initiative Group organizes a meaningful event known as Party in the Forest. This annual gathering is more than a celebration. It is a tribute to the forest’s role in our survival, cultural identity, and social resilience.

Event Highlights

The Oath of the Forest

All Forest Children publicly renew their pledge to respect, protect, and promote the forest. This collective oath unites participants in their commitment to environmental stewardship.

Cultural Performances

The celebration includes music, traditional dance, spoken word, and environmental drama. Participants often wear garments crafted from palm and banana leaves, representing their connection to nature and their journey through crisis.

Tree Planting and Distribution

Hundreds of trees are donated to community members and planted during the event. This hands-on activity promotes reforestation, awareness, and long-term engagement with forest protection.

Local Food and Fellowship

Attendees enjoy local delicacies and drinks prepared using traditional ingredients. The shared meal promotes unity and reflects the forest’s role in providing food and security.

Environmental Education

Throughout the event, guests learn about the importance of trees for climate regulation, food security, biodiversity, and clean water. These sessions help spread practical knowledge that communities can use and share.

2025 Edition Overview

The 2025 theme was “Forests and Food”. Forest Children led performances and tree-planting campaigns while guests enjoyed meals in a decorated forest environment. A large banner announced the Forest Awareness and Tree Planting Campaign, and the event closed with the community-wide recitation of the Forest Oath.

Why This Event Matters

The Party in the Forest brings together cultural heritage, environmental awareness, and youth empowerment. For the Forest Children, the forest is not just a shelter — it is a symbol of hope, identity, and responsibility.

Through this annual event, we inspire action, educate communities, and celebrate the natural world that continues to support and shape us.
